This year we have become one of Co-Op’s local causes. This means that if you are a Co-Op member, Co-Op will donate 1 % of your spend to local causes like Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer. Read on to find out how you can help us…

What is Co-op local causes?

Co-op local causes is an initiative that allows Co-op members to donate 1% of their spend on selected products in local stores to charities like Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

I shop at Co-Op but I’m not a Co-Op member – how can I join?

It’s easy, just go into a Co-Op store and ask a member of staff, or sign up online.

I’m a member – how can I make Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer my local cause?

When you have a Co-Op membership you’re able to log in to the members-only part of their website. When you’ve signed in you can see the causes that your local Co-Op is supporting. You can then select Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer as your cause to ensure that’s where your money goes when you shop at a local store. You can sign in and select Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer as your cause here.

Which stores have Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer as one of their local causes?

You can allow Co-Op to donate to Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer when you shop at:

  • Colmore Row, Birmingham
  • Newhall Square, Birmingham
  • Wheeleys Road, Edgbaston
  • Moseley

Does everything I buy at Co-Op allow money to be donated to the local causes?

The 1% donations are given when you buy Co-op branded food. Money is also raised from carrier bag profits and Co-Op scratch cards.

What will you be purchasing with the money raised through the Co-Op donations?

The money we raise will go towards our community choir to provide weekly professional singing lessons so that breast cancer patients in the area can escape their worries.

Co-op local causes is a great idea and I want to spread the word. How can I go about it?

We share posts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn about the Co-Op local causes scheme. Please help us spread the word by sharing these posts and adding the #TheCoopWay hashtag.

How can I find out more information?

All of the details about local causes can be found on the Co-Op website here. The Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer local cause page can be found here.
