Help us support breast cancer patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital from your armchair

According to OfCom, 1 in 5 people spend over 40 hours online per week. But did you know that in just a few clicks you could use your usual internet surfing to help local charities in Birmingham like Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer? Whether you’re an online shopper or a social media scroller, find out how you can support those fighting breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital…

Online Shopping with Amazon Smile and easyfundraising

If you are an online shopper you really could help breast cancer patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital every time you shop from the comfort of your armchair.

Many of us use Amazon as one of our go-to shops. Did you know that Amazon has a feature called Amazon Smile that allows Amazon to donate a percentage of your spend to a charity of your choice? And it’s super simple to use: just sign up to Amazon Smile here and follow the instructions to support local charities in Birmingham like Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

If you don’t use Amazon, you can still help us by doing your normal online shopping, whether that’s your weekly food shop, booking a holiday or purchasing your car insurance. How? Just sign up to easyfundrasing and choose us as your charity. That way, every time you buy something online, the retailer will donate some money to us! Easy peasy!

Select us as your local cause with Co-Op

Until November 2019 we will be one of Co-op’s local causes. This means that if you are a Co-op member, you can choose us as your local cause a selection of local charities in Birmingham. When you shop in selected stores, a percent of your spend will make its way to us. Signing up is easy and can be done from the comfort of your sofa. Find out more in our previous blog post that explains exactly how Co-op Local Causes works.

Get clicking on social media

If you’re anything like us, you probably spend more time than you should scrolling down your Facebook News Feed. But interacting with us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram could really help us out. We want our posts to reach as many people as possible, to help raise breast cancer awareness and encourage more donations so that we can help more people who are affected by breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Every time you like, comment on, or even better share or retweet, one of our posts, you’re bringing our charity to a new audience. So, please, next time you’re scrolling down Facebook and spot one of our posts, just like, comment and share it to help us to spread the message further.

Use JustGiving for your fundraiser

Are you planning a fundraising event for us? Maybe a sponsored run or walk? If you aren’t already, please consider using justgiving to receive your donations: it makes it super easy for people you know, wherever they live, to sponsor you. Get started here.

Get donations instead of gifts for your birthday through Facebook

Not only can you help us on Facebook to share posts, but one of Facebook’s newer features is Facebook Fundraisers. It works similarly to justgiving and allows your Facebook friends to donate to a cause close to your heart, from big non-profits to local charities in Birmingham like Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer. These fundraisers have become common at birthdays, allowing friends and family to donate to a charity of your choice rather giving gifts. There are two available – which one is it?

Submit your stories to us

We’d love to be able to share more stories about how Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer has helped you during your or a friend or family members treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. It’s so important to us to be able to share your stories and inspire others who have been affected by breast cancer to join us in fighting breast cancer in Birmingham. We’d also love to hear from you if you have fundraised for us. If you’d like to share how Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer has helped you or how and why you support our charity, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
